Winter Break Exclusive!

Introducing our Teen Handgun Safety Class at GAT Guns, this class is specially tailored for young shooters aged 14 to 20. Led by a certified NRA instructor, this course is divided into two dynamic sections.

In the first segment, we delve into the classroom setting to cover essential topics like firearm handling, safety protocols, and responsible gun ownership at home. Then, the excitement continues at our cutting-edge training range for the second part. Here, we focus on refining shooting skills with an emphasis on grip, sight alignment, stance, controlled breathing, and precise trigger control.

We strongly encourage parents or guardians to accompany their teens during the class to observe the instruction. This way, you can actively participate in their learning experience and ensure their safety throughout the session.

Once the course is successfully completed, the student will receive a decorative named certificate.

Bob is an NRA Certified Instructor in Pistol, Rifle and Reloading as well as a Range Safety Officer, Long Range Rifle Instructor and certified Illinois State Concealed Carry Instructor. He can be found hanging out at GAT Guns on the weekends teaching many of our classes, or just helping a student select a pistol or rifle. Bob has extensive knowledge in ammunition handloading including both internal and external ballistics helping students make better ammunition or just get started.

With over 45 years of shooting experience, Bob combines his experience in the tactical and competitive shooting worlds with his background in the sciences to provide his students with both the “hows” and “whys” of safe shooting in a fun and easily understandable fashion.
