Incoming Transfers

Please read this entire page carefully before submitting a request.

Customers who purchase through the GAT Guns Website will not be charged transfer fees when they choose in-store pickup.

Please click “Transfer Request” to begin your inbound transfer. We will forward a copy of our FFL to the seller. Submitting this form does not guarantee approval of the transfer. If there are any issues with your request, we will contact you directly.

  • Pricing starts at $75/gun + $5 background check. High value or collectable firearms may incur an additional handling fee.

  • We accept incoming transfers on firearms from FFL holders only.

  • Incoming transfers are typically processed within 24 hours of delivery to our building. We will contact you once your firearm is ready for pickup. Please note: processing times may be delayed on weekends and holidays.

  • It is your responsibility to verify the legality of each firearm in the state of Illinois before placing an order.

  • Any restricted or rejected item sent to our store will be subject to the standard $75 transfer fee, plus shipping and handling. This also applies to firearms that are denied during the background check process or voluntarily refused by the customer at pickup.

Notice: Due to recent law changes, handguns shipped with magazines greater than 15 rounds will be released without these magazines. Long guns shipped with magazines greater than 10 rounds will be released without these magazines. Additionally the legality of certain firearms has changed. Outgoing Transfers

We can help you ship your firearms legally. When you bring your firearm(s) in, please provide us with the receiving dealer’s contact information so that we can request a copy of their FFL. We must have a copy of the receiving dealer’s FFL prior to shipping. You may also have them email us at shop@gatguns.com with a copy of their license.

  • Pricing starts at $50/gun + Shipping and handling costs

  • We will ship firearms only to an FFL. Under no circumstances will we ship a firearm directly to an individual.
  • Firearms are shipped via UPS. Handguns are required to be shipped 2nd Day Air. Long guns can be shipped ground, or expedited at additional cost.

  • Firearms can be insured by UPS to the value requested.

  • Firearms will ship with a copy of our FFL and the receiving person’s contact information.

  • Tracking can be provided via email upon your request.
