Christina Bernardoni’s journey with firearms began at the age of eight, igniting a passion that has flourished through her engagement in various shooting sports. While advocating for the Second Amendment, Christina emphasizes the importance of proper education and technique to uphold safety standards. With nearly two decades of hunting experience under her belt since 2002, she has primarily pursued large game within the country and upland game species. Delving into Trap and Sporting Clay shooting in 2015, she showcased her skills with an impressive score of 22 for Trap. Holding concealed carry licenses for both Illinois and Utah, Christina’s expertise extends to teaching private lessons and conducting classroom courses, catering to individuals spanning diverse ages and experience levels. Her commitment to safety is evident through her certifications in Basic Pistol and Rifle instruction, Hunters Safety Instruction, Range Safety Officer, and Long Range Rifle, all obtained by 2020.
Youth Handgun Safety
GAT Guns has a class designed for young shooters ages 8 through 14.
This class is taught by an NRA certified instructor. This class is split into two sections, the first portion is in the classroom and teaches firearm handling, safety, and how to deal with guns at home. The second part of the class takes place in our training range and focuses on proper shooting technique including grip, sight picture, stance, breathing, and trigger control. Students must show an acceptable level of safety and proficiency as determined by the instructor to pass this course. We require one adult per student, even in multi children homes because parents will learn how to properly assist their children on the range.
Once the course is successfully completed, the student will receive a decorative named certificate and a wallet sized card indicating they have taken this training at GAT GUNS.
When accompanied by a parent with a valid FOID card, a child can present this card and shoot in our range from age 8. Without the card, the minimum age for the range is 14. All guns used in the range must belong to the parent and may not be rented from our store.
1 -35 = Beginner | 36-70 = Intermediate | 71-100 = Advanced
