Lynn GarnandNRA Certified InstructorLynn is a retired Air Force Officer and an NRA Training Counselor. He is also the owner of Safe Side, LLC.
Safe Side, LLC. specializes in custom ammunition for competitive shooters and law enforcement. Lynn is the Lead Instructor for all of Safe Side Tactical’s NRA classes and is the developer of our Long Range Rifle Course. Lynn has been teaching firearms safety for decades and has the ability to offer courses for all shooting levels and long range shooting.
NRA Pistol Instructor – Day 1 (2 Day Class)
This course spans two days, includes NRA Basic Instructor Training, (BIT) and the NRA Pistol Instructor Course itself.
- Day 1 (1/24/2026): 8 hours of Basic Instructor Training – 8:30AM – 5:30PM
- Day 2 (1/25/2026): Last 8 hours of Pistol Instructor Training – 9:00AM – 6:00PM
The tuition for the BIT and Pistol instructor class is $300.00 paid to GAT GUNS which includes books, range time, targets and holders. To register, go to the Class Registration page and click on the icon for the class. At the bottom of the next page, click on Register. Fill in the registration form and pay by Credit Card. (Note – registering on the NRA website does not register for the class at GAT GUNS)
You will be responsible for the $35-60 2 year NRA credential application fees. Actual cost is dependent on any existing credentials you have. After registering for this course with us, you must contact the instructor, Lynn Garnand, at (847) 767-2275 or lgarnand@att.net for details.
NOTE: If you would like to take both NRA Pistol Instructor and NRA Rifle Instructor, please sign up for both classes. Day 1 will be covered at the same time for both classes.
Class Cancellation / Reschedule Policy
- If you need to Cancel or Reschedule a class, you must call the store: 847-428-4867
- Cancellation / Reschedule of a class up to one week prior to the class is $25.00
- Cancellation / Reschedule of a class from one week to the day of the class is $50.00
